I must say, I do feel deeply sorry for people who suffer from allergies and intolerance to fragrant plants. For me, it’s such a joy to catch a surprise whiff of a scented flower in bloom.
Stephanotis
There are so many fragrant plants in bloom this month and I’m so glad I planted the best of them in my garden. The stephanotis at the top of my back stairs, the gardenias by the path on the eastern side, the Chinese star jasmine covering the western wall, the port wine magnolia that offers privacy by the fence and my solitary tea rose, the magnificent Mr Lincoln – I love you all! Sniff Sniff. What on earth would become of me without a garden?
